The Cape May County Bar Association is an organization formed in 1906 to maintain the honor and dignity of the legal profession, aid in the administration of justice, and cultivate social relations among our members. We are an active Bar that consistently offer events and opportunities that not only benefit our legal community, but oftentimes the greater community of Cape May County. Our dinner events are where welcoming conversation and professional connections are all but guaranteed. These frequent dinners are convivial, well-attended by our legal dignitaries, and often include CLE credits. In fact, the CMCBA offers more than 12 CLE credits throughout the year, including a 2-day event at the Congress Hall, where in addition to discounted room rates and a lauded after party, numerous local attorneys give presentations on a diverse range of topics. This 2-day CLE by the sea has been a big success for our small Bar and it’s quickly become one of the most looked forward to events of the year. The CMCBA also takes part in civic activities such as the statewide mock trial competition. Every year, our Bar organizes nearly fifty students from four county high schools to compete in front of about two dozen volunteer attorneys and judges over the course of several nights. These events are held after-hours at the Cape May County Superior Court, and thanks to the tireless efforts of our members, we give these students a truly unparalleled experience that creates lasting memories for them and their family. Additionally, our Bar continues to have a strong relationship with the judiciary, and whenever there are important changes affecting the courts, our members are informed immediately. Recently, this communication has never been more important because of Covid-19. In response to this unprecedented situation, the CMCBA has been providing our members with near daily information about the shifting changes to practicing law in Cape May County. Together, we have taken steps forward to embrace our new realities, while ensuring none of us get left behind. Quite simply, the CMCBA is an indispensable asset for attorneys who seek to practice in our small neck of New Jersey. We hope you’ll join us as part of our legal community.
